Named for a summer resort in Switzerland, Interlaken Park is a dense evergreen oasis. Discover the refreshing power of this green ravine!

The Summer Evening Trail Run Series takes place on 6 Tuesday evenings in some of the most verdant running destinations that are conveniently located within the Seattle and Eastside areas. Distances are short, ranging from 4k to 10 miles.

This trail run is the sixth of six events in the Summer Evening Trail Run Series:

#1 JUNE 10 – Ravenna Park – 4k, 8k, 12k

#2 JUNE 24 – Redmond Watershed Preserve – 5mi & 10mi

#3 JULY 8 – Carkeek Park – 5k & 10k

#4 JULY 22 – St. Edward State Park – 4mi & 8mi

#5 AUGUST 12 – Seward Park – 4.1mi & 10k

#6 AUGUST 26 – Interlaken Park – 5k & 10k

While trail running can make for a peaceful solitary experience, it’s also a blast to run and chat with friends in the rejuvenating natural landscape, where conversations meander along like feet dabbing down the trail.

Be your group’s inspiration and rally your friends to make some trail memories with our special Summer Series GROUP DISCOUNT!

Groups of 5 or more who plan to sign up for the same Summer Series event together can earn a $5 discount per registration by e-mailing rebecca@mergeo.com. See details below:

1. In your e-mail, include a list of names of those in your group and their respective e-mail addresses.

2. E-mails must be sent 4 days before online pre-registration closes in order to qualify.

*Online pre-registration for Summer Series @ Seward Park closes at 12:01am on August 25th. Group discount requests must be sent by 12:01am on August 21st.

3. Discounts cannot be applied retroactively to those that have already signed up for an event, but those already registered can still earn a discount for their friends by being part of a group.

4. This offer applies to Summer Series events only, which include:

Summer Series @ St. Edward State Park on July 22nd
Summer Series @ Seward Park on August 12th
Summer Series @ Interlaken Park on August 26th.

Course Description

The course starts with an out-and-back tour of the fairly flat, paved Interlaken Boulevard, where it is closed to car traffic through this forest park. The course then turns up a short staircase and onto dirt trails, including a climb to the top of the park and back down to Interlaken Boulevard for the short return to the start/finish. Each loop is 2.5 km. The 5k is two loops, and the 10k is four loops.

Aid Station
The aid station will be located at the start/finish area.

Aid stations offer water, electrolyte drink, and some carbohydrate-rich or salty foods, such as cookies, pieces of energy bar, gels, chews, chips, bagel, fruity candy, fig bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and/or bananas.

Safety & Etiquette

The trails will be open to other users during the event, including pedestrians with pets, and cyclists. Participants are responsible for their own safety while participating, and the organizers are neither qualified nor equipped to render medical care in the event of a serious injury. In case of an emergency, call 9-1-1. You are encouraged to bring a cell phone with you as a safety precaution, if you wish.

Where the trails are narrow, please let other participants pass you if they want to get by. It is a passing runner’s job to tell the person in front that they wish to pass.
