Loop the Lookout Trail Run at Pinnacle Peak Park is the third and final event in the Goat Series. Goat Series events have hilly courses in local parks, and the series is a chance for goats to test their strength on the hills and compete for top honors. This series is a great opportunity to work on your fitness goals, possibly including preparing for mountain races later in the year with longer climbs.
You can expect a clearly-marked course, a well-stocked aid station with a helpful crew, good organization, and a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
Pinnacle Peak—also called Mount Peak—is aptly named, a volcanic cone jutting out of the surrounding farm fields with its over 1000-foot prominence. The peak has magnificent views of the surrounding area and even Mount Rainier when the weather permits, and a historic fire lookout has been restored to the peak. The series finale will also be the hilliest event in the series, with the 5k course loop ascending from the base at the south trailhead to visit the fire lookout. We’ll have a tarp and tent set up for your personal gear, and a well-stocked aid station to replenish you.
We hope you’ll join us at Loop the Lookout to develop your endurance, strength, and motivation to tackle your fitness goals or bigger routes further from home.
