Course Description

The course is a 5k loop that takes advantage of the larger trails to make an easily-runnable and fun tour of this scenic park. The 10k course is simply two loops around the 5k, passing the start/finish point midway.

The route starts out going gently downhill, before nearly reaching the south end and turning to take a moderate-grade drop to reach the beach, 155 feet below the elevation of the start, at nearly 0.9 miles. Next comes a three-quarter mile long flat cruise along the waterfront promenade, a mix of pavement and gravel, before the course makes a 150-foot climb back up the bluff at the north end, regaining the lost elevation in just a couple hundred meters of distance. A 0.7-mile trip south again, this time along the bluff-top trail, which gently rolls before a sustained cruise down only about 80 feet this time to a left turn and a winding final kilometer of trails back up the hill and a mostly flat dash through grassy fields to the finish.

Parking & Directions

Take I-5 to the West Seattle Bridge exit (163A). Follow the signs to Fauntleroy Way SW. A few stoplights after the West Seattle Freeway comes to an end, stay to the left to make a soft left turn to stay on Fauntleroy Way SW. Fauntleroy Way will take you to Lincoln Park on the right hand side of the street. The address is 8011 Fauntleroy Way SW.

Parking is in a long lot near the middle of the park, however there is also street parking closer to Shelter 5 in the north part of the park. To park on the street, just find a place to turn around so that you are facing north along Fauntleroy Way. Here is link for the parking lot. Once you are parked, walk north from the parking lot along a major path, which will take you past some baseball fields and to Shelter #5 by the wading pool.

Safety, Etiquette, Dog

SAFETY
The trails will be open to other users during the event, including pedestrians with pets, and cyclists. Participants are responsible for their own safety while participating, and the organizers are neither qualified nor equipped to render medical care in the event of a serious injury. In case of an emergency, call 9-1-1. You are encouraged to bring a cell phone with you as a safety precaution, if you wish.

PASSING ETIQUETTE
Where the trails are narrow, please let other participants pass you if they want to get by. It is a passing runner’s job to tell the person in front that they wish to pass.

HEADPHONES
If you’d like to listen to music while you’re on the course, please use headphones or earbuds, so that runners around you can’t hear it. Others may prefer a quieter event experience or may have different musical tastes. Runners playing music in the open air may be asked to leave the event.

Also, keep the volume low enough that you can hear someone talking to you in a normal voice, for example, another runner saying they would like to pass on your left.

DOGS
Our events are USATF certificated and under the USATF policies, dog are not allow on course.
